FM-1 Skeleton — A Bespoke Take on the Classic 36mm

We always had this idea in the back of our heads… What if we fit the NH70 skeleton movement into our 36mm FM-1 case? Well, we finally did it — and honestly, the result turned out even better than we imagined.

This was a special project for a client, but also something we’ve been itching to build for a while. The goal? A classy yet bold everyday piece that shows off the mechanics without going overboard. Minimal and raw, but still wearable and refined.

Inspired by a Previous Favorite

If this build feels a bit familiar, that’s because it takes inspiration from our previous S5 Vintage Skeleton. We loved the openworked dial look on that one — but for this FM-1 version, we scaled it down and gave it a cleaner, more compact vibe.

The 36mm case makes it a great fit for smaller wrists or anyone who loves a vintage-style size. But thanks to the brushed 3-link bracelet and skeleton dial, it still makes a bold statement.

Details That Bring It Together

For the hands, we went with black Mercedes-style hands that don’t distract from the dial but still give you excellent readability. We added a black minute track around the edge, which helps frame the skeleton nicely and adds a subtle sporty edge.

The brushed bracelet finishes it off perfectly — giving it that daily-wear, goes-with-everything kind of look. Whether you dress it up or down, this one just works.

Built to Last

Of course, this watch isn’t just for show. It comes with a sapphire crystal featuring clear AR coating for better visibility and scratch resistance, and a screw-down crown to make sure it's ready for everyday use.

The best part? That skeleton NH70 movement ticking away under the hood, giving you a glimpse of what makes it tick — literally.
