A New Take on a Classic Design

Our First Skeletonized S5 Build

We’ve always loved the timeless silhouette of the S5 Vintage case by DLW, but for the first time, we decided to push the boundaries by creating a skeletonized version of this classic. This project was all about stripping things down to the essentials—while still delivering character, clarity, and mechanical beauty.

Minimalist by Intention

To let the movement take center stage, we kept the design language intentionally clean. The dial is framed with a black minute track ring, and we paired it with matching black Mercedes-style hands to complement the overall aesthetic. No extra fluff—just what’s necessary to read the time and admire the movement.

A Movement Worth Showcasing

At the heart of the build is the NH70 skeleton automatic movement, visible in full glory beneath a double-domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. The open dial design lets you appreciate the mechanics from all angles, while the sapphire glass adds depth and dimension with every flick of the wrist.

Versatile Strapping Options

We paired this build with a black leather strap to keep the vintage-meets-modern feel cohesive.

But thanks to the S5 case’s universal 20mm lug width, you have plenty of options—rubber straps, leather bands, or even straight-end steel bracelets. It’s a watch that adapts to your style effortlessly.
